Devlog #4 - Case Two’s Early Access Release
Hello again, everybody! I've been hard at work on the second case of One Thousand Acts of Decency, and I'm incredibly excited to show you what I've accomplished! Before I get into the details about Case 2, I want to cover some small changes.
Changes
- Auto-advance toggle
- Minor text fixes
- You can know hide the text box and UI by holding tab
- Fixed an issue with abnormally-long pauses that only occurred in regions where a “,” is used as a decimal point
- Fixed a volume issue with the Debate start animation
- Added an 'exit to main menu' button
- Added the credits screen for my lovely Patreon subscribers!
There's really not too much to say about these- they're just QoL fixes I made while working on Case 2 that are also a part of this new build.

Case Two Early Access
On Patreon, the first third of Case Two is released! This Early Access demo contains the Prologue, First Investgation, and most of the First Debate. Patreon subscribers at Lupus Tier or higher can download and try it out, but Patreon subscribers of any tier will still get access to exclusive in-development screenshots, as well as footage, pictures, audio, and other information about the development process for One Thousand Acts of Decency. When Case Two is fully completed, however, it will be available to everyone at no cost.

What’s to come in Case Two
Since Case Two is approaching completion, I have a lot of new footage and assets to show off! First and foremost, I have a brief teaser trailer for you all to watch if you so choose- there’s also a more “cinematic” trailer in the works as a sort of “launch trailer,” so there’s that to look forward to as well! Without further ado, here’s the teaser trailer!
As you can see, this case centers around a body found in some very mysterious circumstances- crushed to death by an animatronic costume and left to rot in a junkyard. Even more confounding is the lack of identity- without a name or face to attach to the deceased, Chive’s investigation faces another hurdle that must be overcome if he wants to stand a chance at solving the murder. In spite of this senseless killing, Campanita is steadfast in her belief that the thefts need to be solved as well. Could she be onto something? Perhaps the thefts hold the key to solving the murder, or vice versa…
More Character Introductions
Last Devlog, I gave some information about this case’s upcoming characters, so I think I ought to continue that, since I had a lot of fun writing brief bios for them! On the docket today are Bianco Bergrey and the case's victim.
Bianco Bergrey
Bianco is a twenty-six-year-old child star-turned NEET. Once the proud host of Bianco’s Playroom, a toy review YouTube channel, he (or rather, his parents,) found that the channel wasn’t pulling in the kind of profit they wanted once he hit puberty, and put it on the backburner, letting it slowly fade away into obscurity. Bianco, however, isn’t having any of this, and is determined to maintain the kind of popularity and attention he once had, even if it means fighting against the passage of time itself. Not yet having grown out of his love of toys, Bianco has experimented a bit with body modifications, including a new set of toy-like hands which give him nearly superhuman abilities… But being a former child star, he really has no interest in using these abilities for anything even remotely blue collar.
The Victim
Not much is known about the victim of this case, considering the fact that they’re entombed inside an animatronic suit. During his investigation, Chive can’t help but wonder if this is a deliberate deception on the part of the guilty party- was there a reason to hide the victim’s identity? Would revealing the victim ultimately betray a deeper secret the culprit wants to hide? Until more information comes to light, all Chive can do is speculate as to just who lies behind the chrome-plated visage of an African Wild Dog.
Closing Thoughts
As you probably saw above, this case will be released at some point next month in April, and I'm looking forward to letting all of you play it! I will be posting regular updates on my Twitter, so that's the best place to look for updates on the release of Case 2. Until next time, thank you for the support, everyone!
